# Leap Wallet

Leap is versatile multichain wallet for web3. 

### First Time Setup of Leap

* Go to <https://www.leapwallet.io/#inpage-download> and download the Leap wallet (this is the official website of Leap, always check the address / URL to avoid any kind of phishing attack)&#x20;

* To install the Leap wallet, you need to pick the right version, which depends on your operating system and your browser. You can install Leap on Chrome/Chromium based browsers as well as an app for your Android or iOS mobile device.

* If you have chosen the Chrome version, you will be redirected to the [Leap Chrome extension page in the Google Play Store](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/leap-cosmos-wallet/fcfcfllfndlomdhbehjjcoimbgofdncg/?utm_source=website\&utm_medium=permanent-website\&utm_campaign=permanent). Check the URL and install the extension by clicking **Add to Chrome**.

* After installation is done (automatic process), you simply on the Leap wallet icon in your browser or app. This will take you to the page shown below, where you set up your wallet. You can either:
  * &#x20;import your wallet from an existing seed phrase or&#x20;
  * you can create new wallet&#x20;
* For this tutorial, we create a new wallet.&#x20;

* By clicking on **Create new wallet** the following screen will open. Please be cautions and read all the notes carefully. * Make sure to make a copy of your seed phrase, best practice is in a physical way and then secure your seed at safe place. As soon as you've done that, click on **I have saved it somewhere safe**.
* In the next step, you have to set your own password. The password can be anything of your choice, but make sure that you remember it well, as you need that password everytime you access your Leap extansion after logging out.&#x20;
* If you somehow forget your password you need to use the **\*import an existing wallet\*** feature to setup your wallet again by using your seed phrase.&#x20;

* After you've assigned your password, just click **Proceed** and your Leap wallet is ready to go!

  * Deine Wallet aus einer bestehenden Seed-Phrase importieren oder&#x20;
  * eine neue Wallet erstellen.
* In diesem Tutorial erstellen wir eine neue Wallet.

* Stelle sicher, dass du eine Kopie deiner Seed-Phrase anfertigst, am besten auf physische Weise (auf einem Blatt Papier, o.ä.) und lagere deine Seed an einem sicheren Ort. Sobald du das getan hast, klicke auf**I have saved it somewhere safe**.
* Im nächsten Schritt legst du dein eigenes Passwort fest. Das Passwort kannst du frei wählen, aber merke es dir gut, denn du brauchst es jedes Mal, wenn du nach dem Abmelden wieder auf deine Leap-Erweiterung zugreifen willst.
* Wenn du dein Passwort vergessen haben solltest, musst du die Funktion **Import an existing wallet** verwenden, um deine Wallet mithilfe deiner Seed-Phrase neu einzurichten.
