What is Keplr?
Keplr is a versatile wallet solution for the Cosmos interchain ecosystem, available as an open-source web app, mobile application, and browser extension. It offers robust features for managing accounts and wallets across all Cosmos-based IBC blockchains.
Please note that the Keplr extension is compatible exclusively web browsers like Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Keep in mind that extension is not accessible via mobile devices.
Additionally, it's crucial to safeguard your mnemonic seed, as anyone with access to it can potentially gain control of your assets. Mnemonic seeds are unrecoverable if lost.
To ensure your wallet's security, it's advisable to write down the seed phrase and store it in a secure location. Losing this seed phrase could jeopardize access to your funds.
Installing Keplr and wallet creation
How to create a wallet by using Keplr:
Install the Keplr extension
Click on the installed Keplr extension that will prompt the following page in your browser:
Either Create a new account or Import an existing account with the mnemonic phrase that you got from the previous step of creating an account.
If you have a seed you can use Import an existing wallet or you can create a new one.
If you Create a new wallet this screen will popup where you can chose either
a convenient way, but potentially unsecure way to login with Google Account or
a secure way by creating a new recovery phrase
After you create a new wallet, a warning will appear telling you to be careful with your seed phrase. Keep in mind that blockchain transactions are irreversible, so you must always proceed with caution.
It is recommended that you secure the seed phrase, for example, by physically writing it on a piece of paper and storing it in a safe place.
After clicking on "I understand, show my phrase." your mnemonic seed phrase gets displayed. Secure your phrase as mentioned before.
After that, Kepler will ask you to fill out the details of your wallet and some words from the seed phrase as a precautionary measure to check if you have secured the phrase properly.
Fill out the details. The name of the wallet can be any name you like, password can be anything of your choice, but, you need a password everytime you access your Keplr extansion after logging out. If you somehow forget your password you need to use the *import an existing wallet* feature to setup your wallet again by using your seed phrase.
In the final screen you can add the chains you want to interact, you can change these chains at any time you want by navigating to them in Keplr's settings.
Save your selection to finish setting up your Keplr wallet. Now you are ready to start your journey through the Interchain.

Keplr installieren und Wallet erstellen
So verwendest du die Keplr-Erweiterung, um eine Wallet zu erstellen:
Klicken auf die installierte Keplr-Erweiterung im Browser.
Daraufhin wird die folgende Seite in deinem Browser angezeigt:
Erstelle entweder ein neues Konto oder importiere ein bestehendes Konto mit der mnemonischen Seed-Phrase, die du beim vorherigen Schritt erhalten hast.
Wenn du bereits eine Seed-Phrase hast, kannst du deine bestehende Wallet importieren.
Wenn du eine neue Wallet erstellen willst, wird der folgende Bildschirm angezeigt, auf dem du entweder
eine bequeme, aber auch potenziell unsichere Methode zur Anmeldung über Google oder
eine sichere Methode zur Erstellung einer neuen Wiederherstellungsphrase auswählen kannst.
Nachdem du eine neue Wallet erstellt hast, erscheint ein Warnhinweis, der dich darauf hinweist, mit deiner Seed-Phrase vorsichtig umzugehen. Bedenke, dass Blockchain-Transaktionen unumkehrbar sind und du deshalb immer mit Vorsicht vorgehen musst.
Es ist empfohlen, die Seed-Phrase zu sichern, indem du sie z.B. physisch auf ein Blatt Papier schreibst sowie an einem sicheren Ort aufbewahrst
Nachdem du auf "I understood. Show my phrase." geklickt hast, wird deine mnemonische Seed-Phrase angezeigt. Sichere deine Seed-Phrase wie zuvor erwähnt.
Danach fordert Kepler dich auf, die Details deiner Wallet und einige Wörter aus der Seed-Phrase auszufüllen, um zu überprüfen, ob du die Phrase richtig gesichert hast.
Fülle die Details aus. Der Name der Wallet kann beliebig gewählt werden und auch das Passwort kannst du frei wählen. Bedenke jedoch, dass du das Passwort jedes Mal brauchst, wenn du auf deine Keplr-Erweiterung zugreifst, nachdem du dich ausgeloggt oder deinen Browser neu gestartet hast. Solltest du dein Passwort vergessen haben, musst du die FUnktion import an existing wallet verwenden, um deine Wallet mithilfe deiner Seed-Phrase neu einzurichten.
Auf dem letzten Bildschirm kannst du die Blockchains hinzufügen, mit denen du interagieren möchtest. Du kannst diese Chains jederzeit ändern, indem du in den Einstellungen von Keplr zu ihnen navigierst.
Speichere deine Auswahl um deine Keplr-Wallet fertig einzurichten. Nun bist du startklar für deine Reise durch die Interchain.
